Music at St. Luke's

Welcome to the St. Luke’s Music program. The music program has a lengthy tradition of excellence in the leadership of our worship services here at St. Luke’s. We encompass a broad range of ages and talent levels as well as a broad spectrum of musical styles. For more information regarding the current activities of the music program, please see the church calendar. For information on participating in any of the activities below, please contact Tamara Schmiege at 493-7512x206 or by email.

The St. Luke’s Choir

The St. Luke’s Choir has a long history of excellence in the area of church music in Ft. Collins. The St. Luke’s Choir leads the 10:30 worship service each week with traditional anthems, hymns, and service music and is open to teens and adults of all musical ability. Additionally, the St. Luke’s Choir regularly hosts and presents other major musical events in the Music at St. Luke’s Series such as the annual Bach Festival (in its 30th year), the Festival Service of Lessons and Carols, and Choral Evensongs. The choir accepts new singers throughout the year.

St. Luke’s Handbell Choir and Bells Angels

The St. Luke’s Handbell Choir is comprised of adults and teens who enjoy music-making in the format of English handbell ringing. In addition to the preparation of anthems for the 10:30 worship service, the choir also regularly participates in providing supplemental music for the worship services such as hymn descants and anthem accompaniments. A smaller ensemble of handbell players: The St. Luke’s Bells Angels, focuses on performing music for trios, quartets, and quintets. The ability to read music is required in order to join the handbell choir. The choir is currently accepting players for the substitute list for the current season.

Music for Children

Children’s choirs at St. Luke’s are an integral part of our continuing work of growing together. Children of all abilities ages kindergarten through sixth grade are welcome to participate.

Instrumentalists

Instrumentalists are an integral part of our worship experience at St. Luke’s. There are a myriad of opportunities for both solo and ensemble playing in worship at St. Luke’s.
